Walk!? Instead of Cowboys from Hell. Shame on them.

I won't go into a big list of what should have been there but may I say Black Dog, Dr. Feelgood, Slither, Sharp Dressed Man, Satisfaction, Nightrain, The Passenger, Monkey Chow, 20th Century Boy, Thunderstruck, Whole Lotta Rosie, Stiff Upper Lip, All Right Now, Can't Stop, Foxy Lady... And where is Whole Lotta Love!!??

Okay I'll calm down.

SLTS second?

It's a fantastic song but the riff is not really anything special. Even though that list seems to be leaning a lot towards the 'deceptively simply' line of thought I still don't think it deserves to be no.2.
Not above SCOM anyway.

I know! They just choose the popular riffs, AC/DC have loads of classics like Rock N' Roll Ain't Noise Pollution, Shoot To Thrill, Jailbreak, Thunderstruck, Got You By The Balls, Ballbreaker, Hard As A Rock, That's The Way I Wanna Rock n' Roll, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Guns For Hire, First Blood, Shake Your Foundations, Fly On The Wall, Bad Boy Boogie, Rock N' Roll Damnation, Down Payment Blues, Sin City, Riff Raff, Can't Stand Still, Who Made Who, Satellite Blues, Stiff Upper Lip, Moneytalks, Gone Shootin'...

I'm an AC/DC fanatic, now it's out in the open.

Completely true. It had a lot of influence on music (grunge simple riffs etc.) to come but it's not a spectacular riff. But still one of Nirvana's best. I even prefer the riffs to You Know You're Right, Heart Shaped Box and Lithium to SLTS.

I think I remember Sweet Child O'Mine's riff a hell of a lot easier than "Walk This Way" or "Smells Like Teen Spirit". It's much more noticable. "Sweet Child O'Mine" should have been second or third.

I agree, it should have been. I don't think it was cause it isn't as big a song as all those others but I agree, it should be up there.

Good to see Walk in there  :headbanger:

Dno about Enter Sandman though, Metallica have other much better riffs. Like someone already said though, they have just put the popular soongs down.  :?

What the fuck? That's not "greatest guitar riffs" that's "mostly commercially recognized guitar riffs".

Out of Metallica's career they pick Enter Sandman from that garbage album I now use a coaster for my drink? Immigrant Song? How about Black Dog, Tea For One, Nobody's Fault But Mine????

trash.

or it's not because it is pretty much the riff from led zeppelin - the ocean.

Get the fuck out of here... "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is not worthy of #2.

Would have been nice to see something like Clapton's "Layla" on there, instead they put crap like "Eye Of The Tiger" on it.

mmmm I LOVE Queen, and I think Brian May is one of the best guitarists ever to have plucked a string, but Queen weren't really a "riffy" band. The only one (of their more famous songs at least) that comes to mind as riffy is Tie Your Mother Down
