An absolutely VICIOUS Sympathy For The Devil... Doc Lovett and the Blues Punks made a reunion appearance yesterday at a benefit for a friend recently diagnosed with colon cancer. We had a very good pal sittin in on keys, played a loose, slightly inebriated set for a pretty good sized Sunday afternoon crowd at the Ringside Cafe ( one of the Mojo Gurus hometown haunts) We also had a bit of fun with Red House, Mannish Boy, a slow groovin' After Midnight...it was a bit of fun.

^^ You'll need to take this show over to the UK Doc, there's a distinct lack of good rock n' roll jam bands over here, though Nazareth do the occasional set in Dunfermline which is awesome.

Was toying with Can't You Hear Me Knockin', love that tune.

It Takes Two - Rod Stewart feat. Tina Turner  I dunno how it's originally recorded but I mucked about and learned it in Open G.

^^ Haha awesome, two great voices in one tune.

Was playing Billy Joel's We Didn't Start The Fire. Different from my usual but it's got some bitchin' lines.

I don't know the names of most of the tunes, but I played with my church gospel choir this morning...I do it as often as my schedule permits, and it's a very moving experience...all the more so today, being dedicated to my Granny.

Playing Queen & Paul Rogers' new tune, C-Lebrity. Pitifully simple, but Brian makes it sounds killer. Good riffs.

Kevin brought in two new originals to rehearsal tonight and we worked 'em up...not sure of the title of the first one, but the last thing we played was Goodbye Jezebel...I think that puts us at around 15 new songs since the recording of Let's Get Lit with...The Mojo Gurus.

It sounds pretty good, but I have to work out the solo and add something to it.

I'm learning "Dirty Little Thing"(bass) -Velvet Revolver

It's pretty fast. Fun, though.  I just about got it, but want to practice it some more to get it solid.
