I've read the Tommy Lee bio as well.  Felt like I was reading some porn there in a few chapters.  But it's the whole reason I'm going to see Crue on the 9th LOL!

Right now for fun I'm reading "In Her Shoes"

For school I'm reading Herodotus - "The Histories" and will soon begin reading some Saint Augustine - "City of God".  Not to mention the endless amount of research I have to sift through for the next four weeks.

"The Falls" by Ian Rankin, I really like the Rebus series he does, thats about all I've read for the last couple of months.

My favourite book is The DaVinci Code, and my fave bio is Scar Tissue  :)

aaall o dan browns books are awesome. he comes up with the craziest yet most realistic shit ever

jumping out of a plane with a yard or tarpaulin and not being killed isn't realistic. I really sturggled with the Da Vinci code, ( not in reading it) I dont think he writes very well,  I read it but it was no where near as good as what i was expecting.

Papilon-Henri Charie. Great autobiographical book of escape from a prison in French new guiana, you really feel for the characters, i'm totally addicted to it.
i just finished the cacther in the rye-J.D Salinger, great book i'd recomend it to anyone.

^I've read that. I don't really know how to critic a book but i found it a great read to put it simply.

I'm reading Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis

Love the parts where he mentions New Zealand as his home away from home.

I'm attempting to read The Da Vinci Code for the second time.  I got bored of it after 200 pages, but my girlfriend and friends have persuaded me to give it another go.

Just finished reading The Getaway by Jim Thompson.  It was made into a film by Sam Peckinpah with Steve McQueen in it in the 1970s (remade awfully in the 90s with Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger) and is actually one of those rare cases where the film is better than the book.

The film was cool and McQueen played a likeable character (a lot like George Clooney in Out Of Sight), but in the book he's a cold blooded murderer and you can't sympathise with a guy who shoot innocents people in the face.

The end of thebook is strange, confusing and very trippy.  They up in a Mexican town called El Rey where really weird stuff happens (El Rey is the town that the Gecko brothers were running to in From Dusk Till Dawn, Tarantino pinched the idea as a tribute to 70s road movies).

The film finishes half way through the book, so it doesn't have the same ending.

Arthur Golden's Memoirs of a Geisha.
been meaning to read it for ages but i'm extremely shit at reading and the whole concentration thing - failed to get through the novels set for the last two exams etc....
anyway, so far it's proven a great read. i thought this would bore me but the sense of description is amazing and much more interesting that the film. it's weird to think that this author is able to write like that from a child's viewpoint - probably why it's so captivating.

Finally finshed reading the Crystal Singer series and got through Fools Fate as well.  (yay, two series finished!)

Now I'm on to Dark Saber by Kevin J. Anderson.  One of my favourite Star Wars books but one I haven't read for ages.
