here it is my slither tab... I tabbed everything else but the solo... sorry... I'm not that good at playing lead that I could tab that one without seeing Slash play it first... and I believe improvising will teach everyone more and is more useful in the first place...

here it is any ...enjoy!

Code: [Select]
<br />Intro: a lot of pick scratching with delay:<br /><br />left side probably with wah... <br />|--------------------------------------------------|<br />|--------------------------------------------------|<br />|--7--10--12----7--10--7----7--10--12----7--10--7--|<br />|--------------------------------------------------|<br />|--5---8--10----5---8--5----5---8--10----5---8--5--|<br />|--------------------------------------------------|<br /><br />right side <br />|--------------------|<br />|--3--------------3--|<br />|--2----5----4----2--|<br />|--0----5----4----0--|<br />|-------3----2-------|<br />|--------------------|<br /><br />Main Riff:<br /><br />both guitars<br />|-----------------------------------|<br />|-----------------------------------|<br />|----------------5------------------|<br />|--0-3-4-0-6-7-0-5-0-6-7-0-5-0-3-4--|<br />|--0-3-4-0-6-7-0-3-0-6-7-0-5-0-3-4--|<br />|--0-3-4-0-6-7-0---0-6-7-0-5-0-3-4--|<br /><br />guitar fill<br />|------------------8-------------------|<br />|-----6-7---9-10-------9-10---8---6~\--|<br />|--/7-----7------7---7------7---7------|<br />|--------------------------------------|<br />|--------------------------------------|<br />|--------------------------------------|<br /><br />guitar fill 2: this is only played on the 2nd verse<br />with wah pedal locked in the heel (bass) position. <br />(NOTE: After listening to it again I now think that this fill is played an octave lower. but these notes are still right!)<br />|-------------------------------------|<br />|-------------------------------------|<br />|-----------------5-------------------|<br />|-----3-4-0-6-7-0---0-6-7-0-5-0-------|<br />|--/5---------------------------/8~\--|<br />|-------------------------------------|<br /><br />Chorus:<br /><br />lead guitar: once for every chord<br />|-----------------------------------|<br />|-----------------------------------|<br />|----------------5------------------|<br />|--0-3-4-0-6-7-0---0-6-7-0-5-0-3-4--|<br />|-----------------------------------|<br />|-----------------------------------|<br /><br />rhythm guitar<br />|----------------------|<br />|--3-------------------|<br />|--2----5----4---------|<br />|--0----5----4----0----|<br />|-------3----2----0----|<br />|-----------------0----|<br /><br /><br />Quiet Part:<br /><br />this is based around the same chords as the chorus... D C B and then D again... it basically lots of pick scratching with delay and some nifty stuff like that...<br /><br />Solo:<br /><br />the rhythm plays the same chords as the chorus again... but instead of striking them ones you play each chord 16 times.... ie they are 16th notes...<br /><br />Outro:<br /><br />during the outro this lead is played 3 times:<br />|------------------8-------------------|<br />|-----6-7---9-10-------9-10---8---6-7--|<br />|--/7-----7------7---7------7---7------|<br />|--------------------------------------|<br />|--------------------------------------|<br />|--------------------------------------|<br /><br />then this straight after<br />|-----8-10---7-8-----------------------|----|<br />|------------------10---9-10---8---6-7-|----|<br />|--/7------7-----7----7------7---7-----|-7--|<br />|--------------------------------------|----|<br />|--------------------------------------|----|<br />|--------------------------------------|----|<br /><br />during the outro the rhythm guitar plays Main Riff 3 times then this<br />|-------------------------------------|----|<br />|-------------------------------------|----|<br />|-------------------------------------|----|<br />|--0-10-12-0-9-10-0-7-0-6-7-0-5-0-3-4-|-0--|<br />|--0-10-12-0-9-10-0-7-0-6-7-0-5-0-3-4-|-0--|<br />|--0-10-12-0-9-10-0-7-0-6-7-0-5-0-3-4-|-0--|<br /><br />

I just jammed to this song about 20 times in row and it fucking  :headbanger:

I also figured out that the solo spends a lot of time on the B string's 15th fret (it starts here, then moves to the 17th...), 17th frets and the e (thin) string's 15th fret... lots and lots of cool bending and hamming...

also on said strings 12th frets and in the general area... it's not too hard to figure out... I still haven't tried to figure the actual solo out and I don't think I will... much more fun just jamming on it...

no VR doesn't play half a step down... atleast on Slither...

Standard Drop D...

I played it 1/2 step down.... it works out well that way when you play the riff during the verses, right after the intro

Standard Drop D?  Wow.  That's really unlike Slash.

I think it looks like that when you play it when the guitar is standard tunes, but when you turn the guitar 1/2 step down is suits perfectly, it's not Drop D tuning

if you play the notes like that and tune half a step down... you're a semitone off on all of the notes...

if you play the E string open half a step down... you'll play a D# note... the correct note is D...

either that or your guitar's intonation is off

it's sandard drop D...

Slash has used Drop D before on songs like The Garden... it's not uncommon.

Slash has said that all of his GN'R parts are done half a step down, I think.

yes but Gn'R was tuned half a step down only because of Axl's voice...

if you read the recen interview with Duff &amp; Scott, Duff explains that they use &quot;standard tuning&quot;...

Ok, well I could be wrong about it ;D That recording you did sounds pretty cool btw! What kind of programms did you use for that?

nothing too shabby... I used Fruity Loops for the drums and then I exported them into a wav file and put that into Adobe Audition (formerly known as Cool Edit Pro) ...

then I recorded the bass, rhythm guitars, lead guitars and vocals with Cool Edit... added some effects for good measure with the same program... did some quick mixing with the same program... mixed it down ...with the same program lol... and saved it as a wav.

then I used Exact Audio Copy to convert it from wav to mp3...

Standard Drop D...

slash has said in interviews ALL VR songs are in standard tuning, they wanted to move away from dropped tuning and back to standard.
